5 Ways to Keep Your Dream Alive

Hi,
All of us have had dreams or goals that we have let fade and die in our lifetime. This happens for many reasons, self doubt, do you deserve it, will you cope when you achieve it, or is it lack of activity, laziness, waiting for fate to knock on the door with the answer, missing motivation or enthusiasm.

Maybe we started out well with all good intentions, but then the results did not show as fast as we wanted them to, or an obstacle came along and we questioned ourself, we then doubted and stopped trying. Maybe somebody around us who we respect or admire, took the time to tell us why our dream or goal was not worthy of us, so we listened to them and stopped. Maybe someone just made life so uncomfortable around us because they were scared of change and wanted to keep us just where we are....with them.

We are all entitled to dreams and goals and to achieving them, but there are no magic wands, Genies in lamps, or Fairy Godmothers but there are people that seem like that when you know what you are looking for!!

1. Make your goal personal, it is important to you, write it down in detail always in the 1st person (I, me, my, mine) and always in the present tense (like it has already happened, talking in the here and now)
and sit with your eyes closed to remember it word for word, adding emotion, colour, smells, feelings and textures.

2. Talk to as many people as possible about your goal, they hear it once you keep on hearing it. Talk to yourself about it when you are not talking to somebody else.

3. Any one you talk to that does not encourage or support you, keep them at a distance, stay away from them, their view is only an OPINION not a fact. Believe you are worthy of the new goal, believe you deserve it.

4. Your dreams and goals will not pop into being without working on them and preparing yourself for them dedication on your part, do something everyday to get you closer to the goal, read, listen to CDs or watch DVDs by people who are experts in the area of your goal. Mix with people who have already achieved your goal and listen to their experiences.

5. The fact is as you believe in your goal and move towards it, some people are going to be left behind you, but new people are always going to come along to replace them, only the negative people will be left behind. Blinkers on, head high, shoulders back and just go for it.

Funny thing is once you have tasted the excitement of achievement, you will only want more.....so go to it, what is next?

One thing is for sure you can do it, if you want to and set your mind to it.
